What Is Fasting?

Fasting brings a person into a deeper, intimate and more powerful relationship with the Lord. Every Christian has three duties to perform during their Christian walk: give, pray and fast. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. Fasting also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all of the good things God desires to bring into our lives. The discipline of fasting will release the anointing, favor and the blessings of God into the life of every Christian believer. Your thoughts and spirit will become uncluttered, and you will become more sensitive to the voice of God. Fasting also brings about a transformation that will transform how you live your life. Also, your private discipline will bring you rewards here on the earth and in Heaven.

When you give God your first through fasting, prayer and giving, you set the course for your life!

Benefits of the Fast

1. Heightened Sensitivity to hear from God (Exodus 34:28) Moses received supernatural revelation from God at this time of fasting Exodus 34:28 - And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

2. Victory (2 Chronicles 20:1-4) Jehosophat received instructions/divine intervention II Chronicles 20:1-4 - It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle. 2Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi. 3And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Ju-dah. 4And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.

3. Ability to Resist Temptation (Luke 4:1-4) Jesus was tempted at all points as we were yet knew no sin. Luke 4:1-4 KJV - And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered. 3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. 4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

4. Strongholds Broken (Isaiah 58:5-6) Strongholds, wickedness – sexual perversions Isaiah 58:5-6 - Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? 6Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

"I Believe God" 2026 Faith Confession:

Father I thank You that this is my year of Manifested Faith! What I have believed for privately, You will make visible publicly. I receive Joy as my strength, and increase as my portion.

I will not be moved by what I see. I will not be shaken by what I hear. I will only focus on Your supernatural power and not natural circumstances.

I walk in divine provision. Provisions of joy, Provisions of peace, Provisions of healing, Provisions of increase.

Fear and anxiety have no authority over me!

Thank You for open doors, that no man can shut! Doors of promotion, Doors of provision, Doors of protection, and Doors of answered prayers.

No matter what arises, I will stay in faith and boldly declare: I BELIEVE GOD!

I declare, the enemy is defeated, and I already have the victory!

I declare the blood of Jesus is my protection, my pardon, and my payment.

As I move forward in faith, I make a commitment to do my part. I will be faithful. I will be teachable. I will be loving. I will be generous. I will be forgiving.

I will keep my faith high and my heart right! Nothing will steal my joy!

I command my emotions to come under the authority of the Holy Spirit.

Father, I commit to trust You, Your word, and Your plan for my life!

Your plans for me are good plans! Plans for an amazing future! I believe that You are working on my behalf right now!

So I boldly declare that me and my family haven't seen anything yet! We are ready! Ready to see your promises unfold right before our eyes!

I thank You Father, that this is my year of Manifested Faith! in Jesus’ name, Amen!
