About Us

About Our Church

As individuals and as a community of believers, we continually seek to grow deeper in our relationship with Christ. Our prayer is that the love of God would be so evident in the way that we walk, talk, and love others, that they would be drawn to the ultimate salvation found in Jesus Christ.

Our Pastor

Pastor James McIver

Dynamic teacher, successful businessman, former United States Marine, loving husband and father, Pastor James, is without a doubt an extraordinary individual. As a child he began to learn the importance of family and hard work, as he traveled with his father around the country in the evangelistic ministry. After high school, Pastor McIver served four years in the military, deciding not to reenlist in order to follow a passion to fulfill his God-ordained purpose of helping people.

Pastor McIver and his wife, LeConté, answered the call of God and founded Without Limits Christian Center in New Bern, NC in August 2007, with only four members. In 2013, they moved into their newly constructed facility to accommodate the rapid growth. In 2017, they completed Phase 2 of their construction with Mac’s Place, a recreational facility including a pavilion, playground, volleyball and basketball courts, and indoor meeting space with a full kitchen. In 2019, Without Limits purchased 7 acres of land adjacent to their church building for continued expansion.

Pastor McIver has a burning desire to see others live a “Life Without Limits.” His devotion, dedication, and compassion drive him to spend countless hours mentoring and imparting into others. Pastor McIver is truly a blessing to the body of Christ and the world at large.

Lady LeConté

Lady LeConté, affectionately known as “Lady,” is a wife, mother, and friend who is passionate about expressing God’s love to all she comes into contact with. Having the desire to see others live their lives free of limitations imposed by others or society, DREAMgirls, the Women’s Ministry at WLCC, was established. She teaches with fervency and conviction that everyone can win in life, regardless of past hurts, failures or insecurities.

Devoted to the ministry, she assists her husband with various duties, ensuring that his God-given mandate is fulfilled. Together, Pastor James & Lady LeConté are demonstrating modern-day leadership by touching, teaching & caring for those in the body of Christ. Pastor James & Lady LeConté were married on December 5, 1998, and they have two beautiful children together, Jay & Hannah.

Our Beliefs

We believe in one God in three manifestations. God and Father of all, Jesus Christ His only begotten Son and Holy Spirit, God’s expressive force within born-again believers. All three are in perfect unity and make up what is known as the Eternal Godhead.

We believe the Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is the only infallible, inspired Word of God, and that its authority is ultimate, final, and eternal.

Christ’s vicarious death on the cross paid the penalty for the sins of the whole world, but its benefits are only applicable to those who receive Jesus Christ as personal Savior. Healing – body, soul, and spirit – and all of God’s provisions for His saints, are provided for in the atonement, but these must be appropriated.

We are saved by grace and not of any personal merit. We acknowledge and accept the salvation offered by God as a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death of His son, and its appropriation by faith. Salvation should produce an active lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior.

We believe that the Scriptures portray the life of the saint in this world to be one of balance between what is imputed to us as Christians and what is imparted to us according to our faith and maturity. The shortcomings of the individual and of the Church are because of the still progressing sanctification of the saints. To remain faithful through all circumstances of life requires dependence upon the Holy Spirit and a willingness to die to personal desires and passions.

The goal of the Church is to make disciples of all nations and to present the saints complete in Christ.

The total immersion in water symbolizes the commitment to Christ while The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the death of the Lord and is done in remembrance of Him until He comes again.

We believe tithes and offerings should be freely given to your local church. The local church is the place of membership where God has called you to receive His Word on a consistent basis and to grow spiritually.
